Kiosk!Riga
2 Plots of a city map on Forex, 180 x 270 cmproject for the exhibition „Stories about Riga“, Latvian State Art Museum, 2002
The city map "Kiosk! Riga" shows a special kind of buildings in the city center of Riga shortly after the turn of the millennium: newspaper kiosks, park pavilions, flower shops, guard houses in parking lots, public toilets and many other "small houses", whose functions could sometimes not be clearly identified . Regarding their shapes, serial industrial productions could be distinguished from "unique pieces". They were found scattered across various streets, vacant lots and unused areas of the city and told about the upheavals and temporaries of the post-Soviet period. The drawn map worked as a true-to-scale city map and as a guide from kiosk to kiosk.
