Fatigue
Video und Fotoserie, 2020

The project deals with ordinary landscapes and localities around Berlin that are clearly affected by climate change and environmental degradation. While often stated that forests should be enhanced, restored and expanded in order to slow down climate change, the reality is quite different: more and more trees along alleys and in monoculture forests are dying or falling victim to the rapid expansion of urban sprawl. Additionally, wild pockets in towns and villages are disappearing at a rapid pace to make way for homogenous single-family housing developments. The "exhaustion" of the landscape reflects human fatigue, which represents the other side of our fast-paced lives.
